We have seen plenty of IRS correspondence letters and notices.
While some believe the IRS may not exactly be human, they do
occasionally make mistakes. Other
times, the notices correctly remind parties to prepare and file certain
tax returns. Sometimes, the
IRS questions one or more items in a tax return, and supporting
documentation or research for the position taken is needed to satisfy the
IRS’s request for information.
We can help with these matters.
If the taxpayer does not wish to communicate directly with the IRS,
we can prepare the paperwork needed which authorizes us to deal directly
with the IRS in connection with certain matters.
In general, we do not believe it is a good idea for most people to
deal directly with the IRS because, simply stated, the IRS is trained at
what they do, and most people are not trained in resolving IRS issues (but
we are).
