Have you ever heard “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”?
Many people are under the belief that there is nothing they can do
for tax savings, so they simply forward all information to the tax
preparer after the year has passed and hope for the best.
We have the ability to reasonably estimate your tax situation while
the year is ongoing, which gives you the ability to make changes before the year
is over.
The more significant a transaction is to you, the more important it
is for you to discuss it with us either before you do it, or before the
year is over. In most cases,
there are ways to turn these into tax favorable situations, and we can
help.
Research may be done in order to support a position you have already
taken, to determine the consequences of making certain transactions or to
find ways to do, or not to do, something.
There is so much information available today, that we need to be
sure about the source of information being used for research.
Our research reference sources may be in hardcopy, printed form in
our office or may be in an electronic format, including internet-based.
A word of caution to the self-researchers:
there is plenty of cyber-research that is just not worth the
computer space it takes up.
